Q:We are interested in using the picture of Lyndon Johnson in the pool with his grandchildren for a self-published book about Obama. How can we go about getting the necessary approvals to use this picture. The book has a limited run of 3,000 copies. Thank you.

The Lyndon Johnson birthday post was a reblog of our colleagues at OurPresidents - they obtained it via the LBJ Presidential Library which should be your first step (however, all indications are that it’s in the public domain, which is generally—but not always—the case with our holdings).
