Happy National Dairy Goat Week!
This week is the week where we Americans recognize the Dairy Goats and Dairy Goat Farmers that give us such delightful snacks as Feta Cheese and Cajeta (also called Dulce de Leche)!
This photo is part of a series of Farm Extension Reports from the 1930’s and 1940’s created by the Bureau of Indian Affairs, held at the National Archives at Riverside.  The caption read, “Reciprocity:- The baby feeds the goat; the goat feeds the baby.  Leonard and Eva Hill bought the goat with $3.00 of their R.C.F. loan because their baby- a younger one- was not thriving on cow’s milk.  The goat milk proved to be satisfactory.”
