Gregory “Pappy” Boyington
(December 4, 1912 - January 11, 1988)

Medal of Honor recipient, Flying Tigers pilot, and Commanding Officer of the Marine Fighter Squadron VMF-214 (aka the “Black Sheep” Squadron) Gregory “Pappy” Boyington  was born on December 4, 1912.
